Factories are promises with roofs. Product is a universal claim regarding safety, fitness, and time; when
broken, a tax on strangers. The making is not the art of shipping; it is the art of keeping that. Pure and
simple, producers and manufacturers owe results, not slogans.

Make things that can speak for themselves. Publish your specifications-strength, tolerance, cycle life,
energy draw-on and stamp link on the outer shell. If the customer cannot find the numbers, the customer
has not been offered a product; they have been offered a billboard. Warranty is not charity; it is
engineering continuance after sale.

Design for repair not replacement. Screws instead of glue. Standard fasteners, service manuals, diagnostic
modes, parts priced as parts, not hostages. Ship assemblies that can be swapped on a kitchen table. A
device that dies for lack of a 3 dollar component is a confession, not innovation. Planned obsolescence is
a theft for a calendar.

Interoperate or die. Publish interfaces, connectors, file formats, and pinouts. Do not imprison customers
in custom plastics and secret voltages. If compatibility threatens your margin, fix your margin. The firm
that survives because no one can leave is a prison with packaging; the one that survives because no one
wants to leave is a craft.

Safety is measurable. A batch or serial number must map to test data; recalls must trigger themselves
when thresholds are crossed; near misses get bounties, not blame. “Compliance by paperwork” is theatre;
compliance by instrumentation is duty. If you cannot prove it on a bench, you cannot claim it on a box.
Respect the worker as a co-inventor. Half the concern with yields that the line keeps high at 3 a.m. Get a
share of the upside. Invest in training that makes tomorrow’s foreman today. Publish injury rates and fix
the causes. Auto-mations first cancel drudgery. If your price advantage derives from exhaustion of humans,
you are not a manufacturer; you are a mill with an image.

Data are not an ingredient unless the customer agrees to ingest it. Ship devices that work offline, with
telemetry opt-in, not coerced. No registration to boil water, to light a room, to open a door. Security
updates for the full support life, not until the marketing cycle ends. “Smart” that fails dumb is a hazard.
Price plainly. Break out service from hardware; name the inputs that swing costs; stop bundling traps
behind subscriptions that ransom basic function. Financing should make ownership possible, not
permanent dependence. When the power blinks or the bill is late, the core still works.

Accountable for the world you touch. Disclose materials, energy, and labor routes: fix what you can, pay
for what you cannot, and design to use less next time. Recycling is not an absolution-designing away waste
is. A product that poisons its birthplace is a debt instrument disguised as a tool.

Build for redundancy. Many suppliers, many shops, common jigs, portable programs. When disaster or
politics interrupts, the line shifts, the town keeps working, and customers wait days, not months.
Resilience is not extra; it is the difference between a hiccup and a collapse.

We will ensure our means align with our ends: we will put a service manual and parts catalog behind every
QR on every shell; post test rigs and acceptance criteria; publish support lifetimes in years, not vibes;
report mean-time-to-repair, parts lead times, and recall stats like adults. We will pay for safety disclosures,
honor independent testing, and refuse gag clauses that bury defects.

It is not asking for the market to like us. It officially decides to earn trust with the people who use what we
make. Our signature is repairability; our seal is proof; our receipt is fewer landfills, fewer outages, and
more tools that remain useful after the ad campaign dies. Let the era of disposable promises pass here
upon our names at the same bench where the next run starts.
